In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: acct: perform last write from workqueue In [1] it was reported that the acct(2) system call can be used to trigger NULL deref in cases where it is set to write to a file that triggers an internal lookup. This can e.g., happen when pointing acc(2) to /sys/power/resume. At the point the where the write to this file happens the calling task has already exited and called exit_fs(). A lookup will thus trigger a NULL-deref when accessing current->fs. Reorganize the code so that the the final write happens from the workqueue but w

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_acl_tcam: Fix warning during rehash As previously explained, the rehash delayed work migrates filters from one region to another. This is done by iterating over all chunks (all the filters with the same priority) in the region and in each chunk iterating over all the filters. When the work runs out of credits it stores the current chunk and entry as markers in the per-work context so that it would know where to resume the migration from the next time the work is scheduled. Upon error, the chunk marker is re

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: validate new SA's prefixlen using SA family when sel.family is unset This expands the validation introduced in commit 07bf7908950a ("xfrm: Validate address prefix lengths in the xfrm selector.") syzbot created an SA with usersa.sel.family = AF_UNSPEC usersa.sel.prefixlen_s = 128 usersa.family = AF_INET Because of the AF_UNSPEC selector, verify_newsa_info doesn't put limits on prefixlen_{s,d}. But then copy_from_user_state sets x->sel.family to usersa.family (AF_INET). Do the same conversion in verify_news

It is changed in the loop, but if it's not changed it will remain zero. Add a variable check before the division. The observed behavior was introduced by commit 826b5de90c0b ("ALSA: firewire-lib: fix insufficient PCM rule for period/buffer size"), and it is difficult to show that any of the interval parameters will satisfy the snd_interval_test() condition with data from the amdtp_rate_table[] table. When init_sw_vars fails, rtl_deinit_core should not be called, specially now that it destroys the rtl_wq workqueue. And call rtl_pci_deinit and deinit_sw_vars, otherwise, memory will be leaked. Remove pci_set_drvdata call as it will already be cleaned up by the core driver code and could lead to memory leaks too. cf. commit 8d450935ae7f ("wireless: rtlwifi: remove unnecessary pci_set_drvdata()") and commi

Issue summary: An invalid or NULL pointer dereference can happen in an application processing a malformed PKCS#12 file. Impact summary: An application processing a malformed PKCS#12 file can be caused to dereference an invalid or NULL pointer on memory read, resulting in a Denial of Service. A type confusion vulnerability exists in PKCS#12 parsing code where an ASN1_TYPE union member is accessed without first validating the type, causing an invalid pointer read. The location is constrained to a 1-byte address space, meaning any attempted pointer manipulation can only target addresses betwee

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpumap: Zero-initialise xdp_rxq_info struct before running XDP program When running an XDP program that is attached to a cpumap entry, we don't initialise the xdp_rxq_info data structure being used in the xdp_buff that backs the XDP program invocation. Tobias noticed that this leads to random values being returned as the xdp_md->rx_queue_index value for XDP programs running in a cpumap. This means we're basically returning the contents of the uninitialised memory, which is bad. Fix this by zero-initialising the rxq data str

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: discard packets if the transport changes If the socket has been de-assigned or assigned to another transport, we must discard any packets received because they are not expected and would cause issues when we access vsk->transport. A possible scenario is described by Hyunwoo Kim in the attached link, where after a first connect() interrupted by a signal, and a second connect() failed, we can find `vsk->transport` at NULL, leading to a NULL pointer dereference.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: sysctl: rto_min/max: avoid using current->nsproxy As mentioned in a previous commit of this series, using the 'net' structure via 'current' is not recommended for different reasons: - Inconsistency: getting info from the reader's/writer's netns vs only from the opener's netns. - current->nsproxy can be NULL in some cases, resulting in an 'Oops' (null-ptr-deref), e.g. when the current task is exiting, as spotted by syzbot [1] using acct(2). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wireguard: netlink: access device through ctx instead of peer The previous commit fixed a bug that led to a NULL peer->device being dereferenced. It's actually easier and faster performance-wise to instead get the device from ctx->wg. This semantically makes more sense too, since ctx->wg->peer_allowedips.seq is compared with ctx->allowedips_seq, basing them both in ctx. This also acts as a defence in depth provision against freed peers.
