In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse: Initialize beyond-EOF page contents before setting uptodate fuse_notify_store(), unlike fuse_do_readpage(), does not enable page zeroing (because it can be used to change partial page contents). So fuse_notify_store() must be more careful to fully initialize page contents (including parts of the page that are beyond end-of-file) before marking the page uptodate. The current code can leave beyond-EOF page contents uninitialized, which makes these uninitialized page contents visible to userspace via mmap(). This is an
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/hugetlb: fix hugetlb vs. core-mm PT locking We recently made GUP's common page table walking code to also walk hugetlb VMAs without most hugetlb special-casing, preparing for the future of having less hugetlb-specific page table walking code in the codebase. Turns out that we missed one page table locking detail: page table locking for hugetlb folios that are not mapped using a single PMD/PUD. Assume we have hugetlb folio that spans multiple PTEs (e.g., 64 KiB hugetlb folios on arm64 with 4 KiB base page size). GUP, as
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: check smcd_v2_ext_offset when receiving proposal msg When receiving proposal msg in server, the field smcd_v2_ext_offset in proposal msg is from the remote client and can not be fully trusted. Once the value of smcd_v2_ext_offset exceed the max value, there has the chance to access wrong address, and crash may happen. This patch checks the value of smcd_v2_ext_offset before using it.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qat - resolve race condition during AER recovery During the PCI AER system's error recovery process, the kernel driver may encounter a race condition with freeing the reset_data structure's memory. If the device restart will take more than 10 seconds the function scheduling that restart will exit due to a timeout, and the reset_data structure will be freed. However, this data structure is used for completion notification after the restart is completed, which leads to a UAF bug. This results in a KFENCE bug notice.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial/pmac_zilog: Remove flawed mitigation for rx irq flood The mitigation was intended to stop the irq completely. That may be better than a hard lock-up but it turns out that you get a crash anyway if you're using pmac_zilog as a serial console: ttyPZ0: pmz: rx irq flood ! BUG: spinlock recursion on CPU#0, swapper/0 That's because the pr_err() call in pmz_receive_chars() results in pmz_console_write() attempting to lock a spinlock already locked in pmz_interrupt(). With CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK=y, this produces a fatal BUG

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/filemap: make MAX_PAGECACHE_ORDER acceptable to xarray Patch series "mm/filemap: Limit page cache size to that supported by xarray", v2. Currently, xarray can't support arbitrary page cache size. More details can be found from the WARN_ON() statement in xas_split_alloc(). In our test whose code is attached below, we hit the WARN_ON() on ARM64 system where the base page size is 64KB and huge page size is 512MB. The issue was reported long time ago and some discussions on it can be found here [1]. [1] https://www.spini
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: huge_memory: don't force huge page alignment on 32 bit commit efa7df3e3bb5 ("mm: align larger anonymous mappings on THP boundaries") caused two issues [1] [2] reported on 32 bit system or compat userspace. It doesn't make too much sense to force huge page alignment on 32 bit system due to the constrained virtual address space. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vhost/scsi: null-ptr-dereference in vhost_scsi_get_req() Since commit 3f8ca2e115e5 ("vhost/scsi: Extract common handling code from control queue handler") a null pointer dereference bug can be triggered when guest sends an SCSI AN request. In vhost_scsi_ctl_handle_vq(), `vc.target` is assigned with `&v_req.tmf.lun[1]` within a switch-case block and is then passed to vhost_scsi_get_req() which extracts `vc->req` and `tpg`. However, for a `VIRTIO_SCSI_T_AN_*` request, tpg is not required, so `vc.target` is set to NULL in this
