Fides is an open-source privacy engineering platform. `fides.js`, a client-side script used to interact with the consent management features of Fides, used the `polyfill.io` domain in a very limited edge case, when it detected a legacy browser such as IE11 that did not support the fetch standard. Therefore it was possible for users of legacy, pre-2017 browsers who navigate to a page serving `fides.js` to download and execute malicious scripts from the `polyfill.io` domain when the domain was compromised and serving malware. No exploitation of `fides.js` via `polyfill.io` has been identified as
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mwifiex: Fix memcpy() field-spanning write warning in mwifiex_cmd_802_11_scan_ext() Replace one-element array with a flexible-array member in `struct host_cmd_ds_802_11_scan_ext`. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: complete validation of user input In my recent commit, I missed that do_replace() handlers use copy_from_sockptr() (which I fixed), followed by unsafe copy_from_sockptr_offset() calls. In all functions, we can perform the @optlen validation before even calling xt_alloc_table_info() with the following check: if ((u64)optlen < (u64)tmp.size + sizeof(tmp)) return -EINVAL;
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kobject_uevent: Fix OOB access within zap_modalias_env() zap_modalias_env() wrongly calculates size of memory block to move, so will cause OOB memory access issue if variable MODALIAS is not the last one within its @env parameter, fixed by correcting size to memmove.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: memcg: fix soft lockup in the OOM process A soft lockup issue was found in the product with about 56,000 tasks were in the OOM cgroup, it was traversing them when the soft lockup was triggered. watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#2 stuck for 23s! In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: taprio: always validate TCA_TAPRIO_ATTR_PRIOMAP If one TCA_TAPRIO_ATTR_PRIOMAP attribute has been provided, taprio_parse_mqprio_opt() must validate it, or userspace can inject arbitrary data to the kernel, the second time taprio_change() is called. First call (with valid attributes) sets dev->num_tc to a non zero value. Second call (with arbitrary mqprio attributes) returns early from taprio_parse_mqprio_opt() and bad things can happen.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: accept TCA_STAB only for root qdisc Most qdiscs maintain their backlog using qdisc_pkt_len(skb) on the assumption it is invariant between the enqueue() and dequeue() handlers. Unfortunately syzbot can crash a host rather easily using a TBF + SFQ combination, with an STAB on SFQ [1] We can't support TCA_STAB on arbitrary level, this would require to maintain per-qdisc storage. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: restrict NL80211_ATTR_TXQ_QUANTUM values syzbot is able to trigger softlockups, setting NL80211_ATTR_TXQ_QUANTUM to 2^31. We had a similar issue in sch_fq, fixed with commit d9e15a273306 ("pkt_sched: fq: do not accept silly TCA_FQ_QUANTUM") watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 26s! In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: phy: fix phy_get_internal_delay accessing an empty array The phy_get_internal_delay function could try to access to an empty array in the case that the driver is calling phy_get_internal_delay without defining delay_values and rx-internal-delay-ps or tx-internal-delay-ps is defined to 0 in the device-tree. This will lead to "unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0". To avoid this kernel oops, the test should be delay >= 0. As there is already delay < 0 test just before, the test could only
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpu: Re-enable CPU mitigations by default for !X86 architectures Rename x86's to CPU_MITIGATIONS, define it in generic code, and force it on for all architectures exception x86. A recent commit to turn mitigations off by default if SPECULATION_MITIGATIONS=n kinda sorta missed that "cpu_mitigations" is completely generic, whereas SPECULATION_MITIGATIONS is x86-specific. Rename x86's SPECULATIVE_MITIGATIONS instead of keeping both and have it select CPU_MITIGATIONS, as having two configs for the same thing is unnecessary and
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915/gem: Fix Virtual Memory mapping boundaries calculation Calculating the size of the mapped area as the lesser value between the requested size and the actual size does not consider the partial mapping offset. This can cause page fault access. Fix the calculation of the starting and ending addresses, the total size is now deduced from the difference between the end and start addresses. Additionally, the calculations have been rewritten in a clearer and more understandable form. [Joonas: Add Requires: tag] Requires:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: atomisp: ssh_css: Fix a null-pointer dereference in load_video_binaries The allocation failure of mycs->yuv_scaler_binary in load_video_binaries() is followed with a dereference of mycs->yuv_scaler_binary after the following call chain: sh_css_pipe_load_binaries() |-> load_video_binaries(mycs->yuv_scaler_binary == NULL) | |-> sh_css_pipe_unload_binaries() |-> unload_video_binaries() In unload_video_binaries(), it calls to ia_css_binary_unload with argument &pipe->pipe_settings.video.yuv_scaler_binary[i
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: core: Fix assumption that Resolution Multipliers must be in Logical Collections A report in 2019 by the syzbot fuzzer was found to be connected to two errors in the HID core associated with Resolution Multipliers. One of the errors was fixed by commit ea427a222d8b ("HID: core: Fix deadloop in hid_apply_multiplier."), but the other has not been fixed. This error arises because hid_apply_multipler() assumes that every Resolution Multiplier control is contained in a Logical Collection, i.e., there's no way the routine ca
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix array out-of-bound access in SoC stats Currently, the ath11k_soc_dp_stats::hal_reo_error array is defined with a maximum size of DP_REO_DST_RING_MAX. However, the ath11k_dp_process_rx() function access ath11k_soc_dp_stats::hal_reo_error using the REO destination SRNG ring ID, which is incorrect. SRNG ring ID differ from normal ring ID, and this usage leads to out-of-bounds array access. To fix this issue, modify ath11k_dp_process_rx() to use the normal ring ID directly instead of the SRNG ring ID to avoid o
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_skbmod: prevent kernel-infoleak syzbot found that tcf_skbmod_dump() was copying four bytes from kernel stack to user space [1]. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drop_monitor: replace spin_lock by raw_spin_lock trace_drop_common() is called with preemption disabled, and it acquires a spin_lock.
