In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix RELEASE_LOCKOWNER The test on so_count in nfsd4_release_lockowner() is nonsense and harmful. Revert to using check_for_locks(), changing that to not sleep. First: harmful. As is documented in the kdoc comment for nfsd4_release_lockowner(), the test on so_count can transiently return a false positive resulting in a return of NFS4ERR_LOCKS_HELD when in fact no locks are held. This is clearly a protocol violation and with the Linux NFS client it can cause incorrect behaviour. If RELEASE_LOCKOWNER is sent while som

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: of/irq: Prevent device address out-of-bounds read in interrupt map walk When of_irq_parse_raw() is invoked with a device address smaller than the interrupt parent node (from #address-cells property), KASAN detects the following out-of-bounds read when populating the initial match table (dyndbg="func of_irq_parse_* +p"): OF: of_irq_parse_one: dev=/soc@0/picasso/watchdog, index=0 OF: parent=/soc@0/pci@878000000000/gpio0@17,0, intsize=2 OF: intspec=4 OF: of_irq_parse_raw: ipar=/soc@0/pci@878000000000/gpio0@17,0, size
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netrom: Fix a memory leak in nr_heartbeat_expiry() syzbot reported a memory leak in nr_create() [0]. Commit 409db27e3a2e ("netrom: Fix use-after-free of a listening socket.") added sock_hold() to the nr_heartbeat_expiry() function, where a) a socket has a SOCK_DESTROY flag or b) a listening socket has a SOCK_DEAD flag. But in the case "a," when the SOCK_DESTROY flag is set, the file descriptor has already been closed and the nr_release() function has been called. So it makes no sense to hold the reference count because no
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: strict bound check before memcmp in ocfs2_xattr_find_entry() xattr in ocfs2 maybe 'non-indexed', which saved with additional space requested. It's better to check if the memory is out of bound before memcmp, although this possibility mainly comes from crafted poisonous images.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915/gt: Reset queue_priority_hint on parking Originally, with strict in order execution, we could complete execution only when the queue was empty. Preempt-to-busy allows replacement of an active request that may complete before the preemption is processed by HW. If that happens, the request is retired from the queue, but the queue_priority_hint remains set, preventing direct submission until after the next CS interrupt is processed. This preempt-to-busy race can be triggered by the heartbeat, which will also act as th
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libertas: fix some memleaks in lbs_allocate_cmd_buffer() In the for statement of lbs_allocate_cmd_buffer(), if the allocation of cmdarray[i].cmdbuf fails, both cmdarray and cmdarray[i].cmdbuf needs to be freed. Otherwise, there will be memleaks in lbs_allocate_cmd_buffer().
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ctnetlink: use helper function to calculate expect ID Delete expectation path is missing a call to the nf_expect_get_id() helper function to calculate the expectation ID, otherwise LSB of the expectation object address is leaked to userspace.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio/pci: Create persistent INTx handler A vulnerability exists where the eventfd for INTx signaling can be deconfigured, which unregisters the IRQ handler but still allows eventfds to be signaled with a NULL context through the SET_IRQS ioctl or through unmask irqfd if the device interrupt is pending. Ideally this could be solved with some additional locking; the igate mutex serializes the ioctl and config space accesses, and the interrupt handler is unregistered relative to the trigger, but the irqfd path runs asynchronou
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: i801: Fix block process call transactions According to the Intel datasheets, software must reset the block buffer index twice for block process call transactions: once before writing the outgoing data to the buffer, and once again before reading the incoming data from the buffer. The driver is currently missing the second reset, causing the wrong portion of the block buffer to be read.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: nexthop: Initialize all fields in dumped nexthops struct nexthop_grp contains two reserved fields that are not initialized by nla_put_nh_group(), and carry garbage. This can be observed e.g. with strace (edited for clarity): # ip nexthop add id 1 dev lo # ip nexthop add id 101 group 1 # strace -e recvmsg ip nexthop get id 101 ... recvmsg(... [{nla_len=12, nla_type=NHA_GROUP}, [{id=1, weight=0, resvd1=0x69, resvd2=0x67}]] ...) = 52 The fields are reserved and therefore not currently
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: flowtable: initialise extack before use Fix missing initialisation of extack in flow offload.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: core: delete incorrect free in pinctrl_enable() The "pctldev" struct is allocated in devm_pinctrl_register_and_init(). It's a devm_ managed pointer that is freed by devm_pinctrl_dev_release(), so freeing it in pinctrl_enable() will lead to a double free. The devm_pinctrl_dev_release() function frees the pindescs and destroys the mutex as well.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: handle NULL sock pointer in l2cap_sock_alloc A NULL sock pointer is passed into l2cap_sock_alloc() when it is called from l2cap_sock_new_connection_cb() and the error handling paths should also be aware of it. Seemingly a more elegant solution would be to swap bt_sock_alloc() and l2cap_chan_create() calls since they are not interdependent to that moment but then l2cap_chan_create() adds the soon to be deallocated and still dummy-initialized channel to the global list accessible by many L2CAP paths. The cha
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: check/clear fast rx for non-4addr sta VLAN changes When moving a station out of a VLAN and deleting the VLAN afterwards, the fast_rx entry still holds a pointer to the VLAN's netdev, which can cause use-after-free bugs. Fix this by immediately calling ieee80211_check_fast_rx after the VLAN change.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp_bpf: fix return value of tcp_bpf_sendmsg() When we cork messages in psock->cork, the last message triggers the flushing will result in sending a sk_msg larger than the current message size. In this case, in tcp_bpf_send_verdict(), 'copied' becomes negative at least in the following case: 468 case __SK_DROP: 469 default: 470 sk_msg_free_partial(sk, msg, tosend); 471 sk_msg_apply_bytes(psock, tosend); 472 *copied -= (tosend + delta); // <==== HERE 473
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bcache: fix variable length array abuse in btree_iter btree_iter is used in two ways: either allocated on the stack with a fixed size MAX_BSETS, or from a mempool with a dynamic size based on the specific cache set. Previously, the struct had a fixed-length array of size MAX_BSETS which was indexed out-of-bounds for the dynamically-sized iterators, which causes UBSAN to complain. This patch uses the same approach as in bcachefs's sort_iter and splits the iterator into a btree_iter with a flexible array member and a btree_it
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ipset: Fix race between namespace cleanup and gc in the list:set type Lion Ackermann reported that there is a race condition between namespace cleanup in ipset and the garbage collection of the list:set type. The namespace cleanup can destroy the list:set type of sets while the gc of the set type is waiting to run in rcu cleanup. The latter uses data from the destroyed set which thus leads use after free. The patch contains the following parts: - When destroying all sets, first remove the garbage collectors, then
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: lantiq_etop: fix memory disclosure When applying padding, the buffer is not zeroed, which results in memory disclosure. The mentioned data is observed on the wire. This patch uses skb_put_padto() to pad Ethernet frames properly. The mentioned function zeroes the expanded buffer. In case the packet cannot be padded it is silently dropped. Statistics are also not incremented. This driver does not support statistics in the old 32-bit format or the new 64-bit format. These will be added in the future. In its curr
